Evangelism & Missions at Faith Baptist Church
A number of years ago, our Church adopted the motto: Founded on the Word, Focused on the World. This is much more than a catchy statement. It is a philosophy of ministry that has resulted in a World Missions program supporting dozens of missionary works that reach scores of countries around the globe.
The Scriptures command us to reach the world with the wonderful news of salvation in Christ (Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8). This Gospel (The Good News) is the most important message that must be shared with all mankind. Each Church and every believer has been commissioned by Jesus to reach all humanity!
This tremendous task can only be accomplished as all Christian believers commit to proclaim His saving grace to others. At Faith Baptist Church, we organize our members to accomplish this on two fronts: Local evangelism in the Fredericksburg area and our World Missions outreach.
Local Evangelism
Evangelism is for every believer, and at Faith Baptist we have created opportunities for everyone to obey the Lord’s command. These opportunities include:
Weekly Church-wide Visitation
Weekly Teen Visitation/Soul Winning training
Gospel Blitz literature distribution
Special Sundays dedicated to outreach
Operation Go Soul Winning training
Revival Conferences
Those who attend Faith Baptist Church are encouraged to share Christ regularly in their personal lives and given biblical instruction on how to witness for Him.
World Missions
On January 19, 1975 Faith Baptist Church was organized. Following a vote to call Dr. Don Forrester as the pastor, the Church voted to financially support their first foreign missionary. Enthusiasm for Missions has expanded over the years as we strive to take the gospel to the “uttermost part of the earth” (Acts 1:8). We prepare our members for mission involvement in the following ways:
